Case Study · Results Across Five Brands

Your ads are driving retail sales. For five brands, that meant 12.4x.

Five firearms and outdoor brands advertised with Armanet. Their website dashboards captured direct sales, but shoppers were also buying their products at online retailers. Connecting those purchases to people who actually saw the ads revealed a fuller picture: 12.4x in tracked sales per $1 spent, or a conservative 10.2x based only on website sales and incremental retail sales.

What is a holdout?* A holdout is a group of shoppers similar to a brand's audience who were deliberately not shown that brand's ads. Comparing how often each group bought the brand's products at retail shows how many sales the ads actually caused. The $1.24M is only that difference, not every retail purchase made by someone who saw an ad.
How It Works

Connect an ad view to a retail purchase

ArmanetID is Armanet’s privacy-conscious, anonymous way of recognizing shopping activity across its network of advertising and retail partners. It helps link ad exposure with product purchases reported by participating retailers, without compromising customer or brand security.

01

Reach buyers where they spend time

Armanet reaches firearms and outdoor shoppers on sites they already visit. Many of them complete their purchase through an online retailer rather than on the brand’s own website. The retail data in this study covers online purchases only, not in-store walk-ins.

02

Recognize retail purchases

With ArmanetID and product-level information from participating retailers, Armanet can connect purchases of a brand’s products with shoppers who actually saw that brand’s ads. This makes part of the retail story visible alongside website sales.

03

Separate connected sales from added sales

Armanet compares each brand’s ad viewers with a similar group that did not see the ads. The difference helps estimate additional retail sales associated with exposure, rather than treating every connected retail purchase as an additional sale.

The Lift

One investment. A fuller sales picture.

Across the five brands, website dashboards recorded $1.55M in direct sales. Another $1.83M in retail sales was connected to shoppers who actually saw the ads. Compared with the holdout group described above, the estimated additional retail sales among those ad viewers was $1.24M.

Only a small slice of reality is visible. The $1.83M in connected retail sales reflects tracking across about 15% of ecommerce. Our partners do not include every major or small online retailer, and we do not capture in-store walk-in purchases at all. The real retail impact is likely higher, but we do not project a total from the portion we can measure.
One brand’s example. A brand without website purchase tracking could not see sales in its dashboard. At retail, shoppers who saw its ads bought its products at a 140% higher rate than a similar group who did not see them. Retail tracking revealed an impact the website dashboard missed.
How to Get More of It

Frequency and timing are levers you control

Shoppers who saw four or more ads bought at retail at up to 24x the rate of shoppers who saw one. Most retail purchases happened within days of the last ad. With Armanet, you can monitor and control both how often shoppers see your ads and when they see them. That means you can build toward the frequency that drives retail purchases and time your flights around the moments when shoppers are ready to buy, instead of guessing.

Make the full impact of your ads visible

Use this evidence to understand what your advertising is doing, make a stronger case for more budget, and show retail partners how your investment supports their sales.
